Bears vs. Browns Prediction: Jacoby Brissett Delivers in First Preseason Action
By Josh Yourish
The Chicago Bears are 2-0 in the preseason, but have a concerning outlook for the regular season. Could Matt Eberflus simply do more with less this year?
Sure, but could the preseason also be an inaccurate measure of this roster and coaching staff? That’s more likely. It’ll be their final test before the regular season this week and they take on the Cleveland Browns.
Cleveland needs to figure out their offense with Jacoby Brissett. He has yet to play a snap in the preseason.

This line just keeps moving towards the Browns as they become bigger and bigger favorites. WynnBET has them as 5.5 point favorites, but you can find them as six point favorites in some books. The total has also climbed to over 40 points from 38 to 41.5.
Earlier in the week I speculated that Jacoby Brissett would get to play a good bit this week, his first action in preseason. That appears to be the case now as Kevin Stefanski is looking to get his starting QB ready for Week 1. The Browns need to figure out their offense as this is Brissett’s first year with the team and he is a much different quarterback than Baker Mayfield.
Amari Cooper will likely play with Brissett as well as those two try to get on the same page.
I made this case earlier in the week and Mary Kay Cabot and other reporters have confirmed my theory. The only problem, Vegas has figured that out too. Either way I am still riding with this pick, but I liked it earlier in the week at a better number.
PICK: Browns -5.5 (-110)
