Belmont vs. St. Louis Prediction and Odds: Expect an Offensive Clinic for Both Teams
By Matt De Saro
The 7-3 Belmont Bruins hit the road tonight to take on the Saint Louis Billikens at the Chaifetz Arena. Both teams lead their respective conferences with the Bruins first in the Ohio Valley and Saint Louis holding down the top spot in the Atlantic 10.
Belmont is on a two-game winning streak and has come out on top in four of its last five matchups. The Bruins last game was an 85-73 win over Samford in a game where Belmont's offense was the star of the show. The Bruins hit 52.8 percent of their shots from the field, led by Will Richards who ended the night with 23 points and nine rebounds. The team is now averaging a healthy 79.2 PPG with Richards and Nick Muszynski leading the charge.
Saint Louis is coming off a 77-72 loss to UAB and will look to bounce back in front of its home crowd tonight. Where the Belmont offense secured them a win last time out, it was the Billikens defense that let them down in this game. Marten Linssen led the charge for Saint Louis with 11 points in 18. He was the only starter in double digits for Saint Louis.

Belmont vs. St. Louis Prediction and Pick
Both of these teams have been playing well heading into this game and are fairly well matched. Belmont is 4-1 ATS in their last five games and 4-0 against teams above .500. The Billikens, however, have struggled to cover against winning teams. Saint Louis is just 1-4 ATS in its last five against a team with a winning record.
Despite this, I think that St. Louis is more than 2.5 points better overall than Belmont. They average seven more points per game on offense and five less on defense than Belmont does and will have the support of the home crowd.
So, there is a case for both teams in this game but I think Belmont has a slightly better value as an underdog here. I think that if St. Louis wins this game it will be close so give me the Bruins and the points here.
Pick: Belmont +2.5
