Bengals vs. Giants Prediction: New York Too Big a Favorite for Preseason
By Josh Yourish
the Cincinnati Bengals still bring back most of their Super Bowl roster from a year ago, but don't expect to see Joe Burrow in this one, or maybe in the preseason at all as they look to rebound against the New York Giants after a loss last week.
The Giants got the win against the New England Patriots last week and bettors should expect to see Daniel Jones in this one. How do they matchup overall with one starting QB playing and the other sitting out?
Let’s take a look at the odds from WynnBET as the Giants are a big preseason favorite.
Bengals vs. Giants Odds, Spread and Total
Spread
- Bengals +5.5 (-110)
- Giants -5.5 (-110)
Moneyline
- Bengals +200
- Giants -250
Total
- 39 (Over -110 / Under -110)
Bengals vs. Giants Odds, Spread and Total Movement in NFL Preseason Week 2
The only movement was on the total as it dropped from 40 to 39 throughout the week. New York has held as a huge preseason favorite at WynnBET Sportsbook.
Bengals vs. Giants Best Bet and Prediction
I agree with the Giants being favored, as we saw them beat the Patriots a week ago and will see much more from their quarterbacks. Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor splitting reps in preseason means that both players will see the field in this game. That is much better than Jake Browning and Brandon Allen who will be behind center for Cincinnati.
However, 5.5 just seems like a huge spread for a preseason game. The Bengals did get killed by Arizona, but I think there is a serious element of randomness to the preseason in the NFL. It is predominantly determined by quarterbacks, but also by what the coach wants to get out of the game.
It is hard to predict how much of Brian Daboll’s offense we will see or if they will just run more vanilla stuff. I think New York wins, but I can’t say they will cover 5.5 that is just way too much for me.
LEAN: Bengals +5.5 (-110)
