Best Bet to Win NBA Finals Entering Training Camp (Every Team's Odds to Win NBA Championship)
By Peter Dewey
It’s NBA futures season as training camp is set to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 27 and the NBA season is less than a month away.
Last season, the Golden State Warriors continued their insane run with Steph Curry leading the way, winning their fourth NBA title under head coach Steve Kerr.
Despite that, Golden State isn’t favored to win the title in the 2022-23 season. Instead, that honor goes to the team that the Warriors beat in the Finals, the Boston Celtics. Boston has dealt with a lot over the last week suspending coach Ime Udoka for the entire season for violating team policies, and losing Robert Williams III for several weeks to knee surgery.
So, who do I see with the best value to win the title this season? Before we get into that, here are the odds to win the Finals in the 2022-23 campaign.

Best Preseason Bet to Win the NBA Championship
Denver Nuggets (+2000)
I’m going to look a little further down the odds list for my NBA Finals pick, the Denver Nuggets. While it isn’t my top team to win it all, I think it is the best value on the board.
Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets could be a sneaky team in the Western Conference this season if they stay healthy. The return of Murray and Michael Porter Jr. certainly gives Denver a formidable core to rely on after Jokic.
Jokic has won back-to-back MVPs, and he’s kept Denver out of the play-in tournament despite not having Murray for the entire 2021-22 season and good part of the previous season.
Don’t forget, this team made the Western Conference Finals in the 2019-20 season, the last time this group was healthy, and that was in Porter’s first true season taking on a bigger role in the offense.
Injuries are always going to be a concern, but the Nuggets have a discernible floor as long as Jokic is healthy. He carried a subpar supporting cast for most of the 2021-22 season, and he posted an insane plus-16.4 net rating for Denver.
Jokic is one of the five best players in the NBA right now whether you like it or not, and he could follow the path Giannis Antetokounmpo did, win back-to-back MVPs and then the following season you win an NBA title.
At +2000, this Denver team is criminally underrated when it could very well be a top three seed in the West this season.
