It's the final day of the college basketball regular season and the Big Ten takes center stage with three bubble teams trying to solidify their case to the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee.
Penn State, Michigan and Wisconsin all find themselves in between the last four out and the next four out designation on each projected bracket of the NCAA Tournament filed ahead of Sunday's action. Can one team inch ahead of the other and the rest of the at-large field on Sunday.
The trio of impactful games gets started at noon EST with Penn State hosting Maryland on the heels of a come from behind overtime victory at Northwestern. The Nittany Lions need every win they can get, and another victory at home as a small favorite against a Tournament opponent can open up a path to get back into the field come Selection Sunday a week from today.
Michigan couldn't get a decisive victory at Illinois on Thursday, losing in double overtime, but still have a chance at making the 'Big Dance' and a win on the road against Indiana could set them up for a good news come Selection Sunday. The Wolverines are moderate underdogs, but the committee doesn't care about covers, rather wins on the road against Quad 1 competition.
Lastly, Wisconsin could have likely secured an NCAA Tournament berth with a win at home against Purdue, but lost by two despite leading in the second half. While the team can't lock up a tourney berth on Sunday, they can't lose on the road to Minnesota, who stormed back to shock Rutgers in the final minute on Sunday, but are in last place in the Big Ten.
The Badgers are big road favorites, and simply need to win to avoid any more pressure in the conference tournament next week.
