Daily Dinger: Best Home Run Prop Bet Picks for Sunday, June 12 (Back Hot Bats in Hot Weather)
We came close to a nice hit in yesterday's "Daily Dinger," but despite Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos leading the team in total bases, it wasn't enough to circle all of them in Philadelphia 4-0 shutout against the Diamondbacks.
On a busy Sunday across the Major Leagues, there's lots of games featuring all sorts of unique weather conditions. We've got thunderstorms and wind on the east coast, while in the midwest and out west, we're looking at some major heat waves coming in.
That's where we're looking to target our two top home run props for today, as there's plenty of heat in St. Louis where the heat index will reach 100 degrees for Reds vs. Cardinals, and lots of sunshine in San Diego as the Padres host the Rockies.
All odds are available via WynnBET Sportsbook, as well as consensus lines. WynnBET props are mentioned specifically if available below.
You can always follow along with our daily standings in the BetSided "Daily Dinger" game HERE.
Best Home Run Picks Today
- Brandon Drury (+465) - Available at WynnBET
- Brendan Rodgers (+600)
Brandon Drury (+465) - Cincinnati Reds at St. Louis Cardinals
Drury rides into Sunday on a 10-game hitting streak, hitting .421 with a weighted on-base average (wOBA) of .499. More importantly, he has an isolated power (ISO) of .294 since the month of June began (league average is .140).
His opponent, right-hander Dakota Hudson of the Cardinals has pitched to a 2.76 ERA, but he's due to regress heavily soon. His expected ERA at Fangraphs is nearly two full runs higher (4.61) than his current ERA. While Hudson gets a bunch of ground balls (55.9%), he can still get his real hard, and has had issues finding the plate this year with a walk-rate per nine innings of almost 4 (3.84).
In hot, sticky and humid conditions, the ball is going to fly out of the park in St. Louis today, giving Drury's hot bat the advantage to leave the yard at a great price. -- Ben Heisler
Brendan Rodgers - Colorado Rockies at San Diego Padres
Brendan Rodgers has been absolutely smashing left-handed pitchers this season. He has a .313 batting average against them, and a .542 slugging percentage. Three of his six home runs this season have been against lefties, despite having less than a third of his at bats against them.
Good news for him, is that he and the Rockies face lefty Blake Snell today, who has been abysmal so far this season. Snell has a 5.68 ERA this year, and him being a lefty is going Rodgers a good dinger candidate today. -- Iain MacMillan
