Best Home Run Prop Bet Picks for Monday, May 9

  • Mookie Betts (+385) - available at WynnBET
  • Manny Machado (TBD)
  • Jazz Chisholm (+350) - available at WynnBET
  • Jesus Aguilar (+330) - available at WynnBET

Mookie Betts (+385) - Los Angeles Dodgers at Pittsburgh Pirates

Betts has been crushing against left handed pitching at .381 this season, and now gets to face Jose Quintana, who is due for a ton of regression.

His fly ball rate is down more than 10% from last season and his expected ERA is more than one run higher than his actual ERA.

Betts has five homers this season and I expect him to get to six against a typically fly ball pitcher in Quintana. -- Reed Wallach

Manny Machado (TBD) - Chicago Cubs at San Diego Padres

Manny Machado and the San Diego Padres play Kyle Hendricks and the Chicago Cubs on Monday, and I think this a perfect spot for Machado to show why he’s the favorite to win NL MVP.

Machado already has seven home runs this season, and hitting an impressive .385. He’s also 4-for-9 against Hendricks in his career.

After allowing the most hits in baseball last season, Hendricks is struggling again in 2022, allowing six homers through his first six starts; five of them coming in his last two outings.

I’ll fade him again with Machado swinging the bat so well at this point in the season. -- Peter Dewey

Jazz Chisholm (+350) - Miami Marlins at Arizona Diamondbacks

Time for a Marlins mashing party as they head to hitter-friendly Arizona to tee off against Humberto Castellanos.

The 24-year old right-hander doesn't offer much as far as swing-and-miss goes. Via MLB Statcast, he ranks in the 10th percentile in strikeout percentage, and only the 3rd percentile in whiff rate.

Chisholm is off to a spectacular start for Miami, ranking sixth in all of baseball in wins-above-replacement (WAR) at 1.7, while also leading the Marlins in home runs with five, with all five coming against right-handed pitchers. Chisholm's isolated power (ISO) is up near .356 vs. righties this year. League average is .140!

Castellanos has yet to allow a home run through four starts (and six games), but I promise the regression is coming. -- Ben Heisler

Jesus Aguilar - Miami Marlins at Arizona Diamondbacks

I'm convinced Humberto Castellanos is not a good pitcher. He has a 4.12 ERA this season, but had yet to give up a home run. I think that streaks come to an end tonight when he takes the mound against the Miami Marlins.

The Marlin I'm backing is Jesus Aguilar. He has three home runs this season, but has a strong batting average of .274.

I'm going to bet on him to go yard for the fourth time this season tonight. -- Iain MacMillan
