Jacob deGrom makes his long awaited return to the mound for the New York Mets tonight against the Washington Nationals.
Obviously there is a lot of excitement surrounding the 2022 debut of the two-time Cy Young winner, so we’re going to want to get in on the action with some prop bets.
There's several on the board at multiple books, but here's my favorite one to wager on this Tuesday.

Best Jacob deGrom Prop Bet Today
With so much excitement for his return, many bettors will overvalue deGrom even though he has not pitched for quite some time. I am by no means disrespecting deGrom’s talent or ability when he is on the mound, but the books know that they will get a lot of action on the over for deGrom strikeouts.
Mets fans, and frankly baseball fans are excited to have him back in their lives, so they will root for him to strike out every National he faces tonight. And that is not outside of the realm of possibility for deGrom, but for me the value lies on the under.
He has not pitched in an MLB game since last July and reports are that he will be limited to six innings and around 80 pitches, but that he could go as few as four innings and 60 pitches. Even if he strikes out a batter an inning and goes those six innings, the under still hits.
Yes, his strikeouts per nine innings last season were over 14, but I don’t expect him to be in that form just yet. If he does pitch four innings then he will be even harder pressed to get seven K’s.
