Best MLB Parlay Picks for May 28 (Low-Risk, High Reward For Saturday)
By Matt De Saro
This Saturday is chock full of quality MLB action. With so much available on the card, I wanted to highlight a few games that work well as a parlay wager to kick this holiday weekend off as a winner. Let's get started, with all odds courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.
Best MLB Parlay Picks for May 28
- Los Angeles Dodgers ML vs Arizona Diamondbacks (-175)
- Boston Red Sox ML vs Baltimore Orioles (-155)
- Chicago Cubs ML vs Chicago White Sox (+125)
A $25 wager would win you $120.42 if it hits!
Los Angeles Dodgers ML vs Arizona Diamondbacks (-175)
Let’s start off win an easy one here. The Dodgers are on fire right now having won 11 of their last 13 games outright. A shocking six of those 13 games have come at the expense of the lowly Diamondbacks. The Dodgers are on track to win eight in a row agianst Arizona and I don’t think even Merrill Kelly can slow them down. He did surrender eight runs in two innings last Tuesday in his last crack at LA after all. Tony Gonsolin gets the start for LA and is a legit Cy Young candidate right now with a 1.62 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 39 innings. This is an easy call for leg one of this parlay.
Boston Red Sox ML vs Baltimore Orioles (-155)
Game two is another one I feel really good about -- not that I ever truly feel good when the Red Sox win. But if a profit can be made, then so be it. This will be the second game of a doubleheader between these AL East rivals and I like Josh Winckowski’s chances to debut with a win. Boston is diving into their farm system tonight to give the franchise’s No. 12 prospect a shot in the bigs. The 23-year-old has a 3.13 ERA in seven starts with 34 strikouts in 31 ⅔ innings. While the Sox got beat last night 12-8, the Red Sox are on a hot streak with seven wins in their last nine games while the Orioles are 5-5 in their last 10.
Chicago Cubs ML vs Chicago White Sox (+125)
This is definitely the wild card pick of this parlay, so I saved it for last. To keep things simple, this is basically a bet on Johnny Cueto coming back down to earth after starting his year with 12 scoreless innings. Crashing back down might be more accurate. The 36-year-old once was a guy who I would be all over in a spot like this. But years of ERAs north of 5.00 have soured my opinion on his ability to lead a team in 2022. There is nothing particularly scary about the Cubs other than Keegan Thompson who has a 1.54 ERa and 1.00 WHIP in 35 innings. But I smell a Classic Cueto implosion incoming.
