What's that quote, "It's always the ones closest to you that hurt the most?" Well, I can confirm my newly beloved Cleveland Guardians costing us the parlay yesterday hurts quite a bit.

Never fear, though! We're nothing if not resilient in this neck of the woods. If a parlay falls in the forest but we keep on chugging, was it really even a loss?

Yes, yes it was. But we're one step closer to greatness. Just a few more strides and we'll be swimming in an illustrious river of dollars.

Using the odds from WynnBET, let's find that perfect babbling brook of bets and check out my favorite MLB parlay picks of the day:

Best MLB Parlay Picks Today

Blue Jays vs Athletics Over 8.5 (-115)

The over has hit in nine straight Jose Berrios starts as his 6.23 expected ERA is the worst among all qualified pitchers. He's got a 7.92 ERA on the road and his MLB Statcast Pitching Profile suggests even a lowly lineup like Oakland's can find success:

Toronto's lineup is one of the hottest in MLB and I expect the Blue Jays to score on James Kaprielian as well, who has a 6.45 ERA at home. The over is 6-1-1 in his last eight starts.

With two lackluster defenses and bullpens supporting each woeful starter, the over is the play.

Angels (-155) vs Marlins

Shohei Ohtani celebrated his 28th birthday yesterday and unlike Kyrie Irving, he showed up to work for it!

Ohtani hasn't allowed a single run in his last three starts as the guy is on a tear. The Angels have four straight wins behind him and I expect another victory against a Marlins team that's lost five of six as home underdogs.

Trevor Rogers has an 8.39 ERA at home and is no match for the reigning AL MVP. Ohtani is continuing his celebration with a victory tonight.

Phillies (-215) vs Nationals

After Philadelphia's 11-0 blowout win yesterday, the Nationals have lost six straight and are expected to be without Juan Soto again today. Josiah Gray has pitched well recently but just gave up six runs in 5.2 innings to the Marlins and is at a huge disadvantage against Aaron Nola.

The Phillies are 6-1 in Nola's last seven starts, including a win over Washington, as his 2.83 expected ERA is among the best figures in MLB.

Washington can't catch a break right now and Philadelphia is 11-4 in its last 15 as home favorites. Trust in Nola to deliver the Nationals their seventh straight loss.

Braves (-170) vs Cardinals

We'll keep backing excellent pitchers with the Braves looking for a ninth straight win behind Max Fried. The 28-year-old lefty has a 1.95 ERA over his last seven starts, allowing one or fewer runs in five of those outings.

Fried is a legitimate Cy Young candidate and enjoys the support of perhaps MLB's hottest lineup. Atlanta is 13-1 in its last 14 as a home favorite while the Cardinals are 2-12 in their last 14 as road underdogs.

Miles Mikolas is having a nice year, but his expected ERA (3.37) is nearly a full run worse than his actual ERA (2.61) and Atlanta's offense is too hot to fade right now.

Astros -1.5 (-135) vs Royals

It's Cristian Javier's world and we're just living in it. The guy is on a historic stretch, striking out 27 over his last 14 innings while allowing just one hit.

He's got a 1.83 ERA at home and the Astros are 16-3 since the middle of June. Meanwhile, Kansas City is 2-8 in Brad Keller's last 10 starts with every loss coming by multiple runs.

The Royals have the AL's worst bullpen while the Astros have the best in MLB. With a surging lineup and elite defense backing up Javier and Houston's cabal of strong relievers, I expect another convincing win for the 'Stros.

MLB Parlay for July 6, 2022

The "Babbling Brook of Bets" Parlay (+1152)

  • Blue Jays vs Athletics Over 8.5 (-115)
  • Angels (-155) vs Marlins
  • Phillies (-215) vs Nationals
  • Braves (-170) vs Cardinals
  • Astros -1.5 (-135) vs Royals

One step closer to greatness, indeed! I love the value we're getting to support excellent pitchers and fade all pitchers involved in the Toronto/Oakland game.

I encourage you to pick your favorite plays from the BetSided team's previews to make your own parlay at WynnBET, but these are the wagers I'm riding with.

Best of luck as always and let's get after it!
