No matter how many times I try to order burgers from the Taco Bell drive-thru window, the workers never make me a burger. "You can only take what we have" they say, despite my insistence that a juicy Taco Bell burger would be magical.

I'm often lousy at accepting the options in front of me with betting too. I'll try to force a wager that just doesn't have the value I'm accustomed to, and it comes back to bite. Today, let's try something new. There's a light MLB slate with two games jumping out to me.

Instead of demanding a burger when WynnBET only offers tacos, I'll enjoy my tacos. It's time to take what the slate gives us.

Here are my favorite MLB Parlay Picks of the day, using consensus odds:

Guardians (-184) vs Orioles

Shane Bieber might be MLB's most underrated pitcher this season. He had a a 1.63 ERA in August and maintained an expected FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) below 2.53 in five of his last six starts.

The Baltimore Orioles are a tough team to face, but Kyle Bradish has a 5.63 ERA on the season. He's not on Bieber's level, and his MLB Statcast Pitching Profile is discouraging:

Cleveland's contact-heavy offensive approach should allow opportunities for plenty of hard-hit balls. In a critical game for the Guardians' AL Central hopes, I expect a bounce-back performance after yesterday's shutout loss.

Rangers (+144) vs Red Sox

The Texas Rangers have four straight wins behind Glenn Otto, who found a groove in August after a rough start to the season. Otto compiled a 2.93 ERA last month, allowing two or fewer runs in four of five starts.

Otto's improvement gives the Rangers considerable value, especially considering how awful Boston Red Sox starter Rich Hill is at Fenway Park. He's got a 5.54 ERA at home and should struggle against a Texas lineup that ranks seventh in OPS against left-handed pitchers this year.

Boston is 3-7 in its last 10 games with one of MLB's worst bullpens. Given these factors, it can't be trusted as such a heavy home favorite. Trust Otto's rise to give the Rangers their fourth win in five games as road underdogs.

MLB Parlay for September 1, 2022

The "Let Them Eat Tacos" Parlay (+277)

  • Guardians (-184) vs Orioles
  • Rangers (+144) vs Red Sox

Alright WynnBET (or WynnBell?), these tacos better be good! Odds of +277 pay out $69.15, which is still enough to order a burger if I feel the need.

We can trust in Shane Bieber and Glenn Otto. It's a new month, new me. At least until I change my mind tomorrow or something.

Best of luck as always - let's get after it!
