It looks like a great week of weather here in Kansas City, which means I hope to golf quite a bit. Golf is simultaneously incredible and frustrating in that you can have mostly great shots on every hole, but one bad shot banishes you to bogey-land.

Parlays work the same way. Who cares if I hit four of five picks if we lose one, ya know? We're here for a clean sweep, where that sweet, sweet birdie when every swing falls into place perfectly.

Since I'll be golfing this week, it's only right we nail a birdie today and cash this MLB parlay. Chirp, chirp, baby!

Using odds from WynnBET Sportsbook, here are my favorite MLB parlay picks of the day:

Best MLB Parlay Picks Today

New York Mets -1.5 (-150) vs Reds

It's a beautiful, glorious day. Why? Because we get to fade Mike Minor!

The Cincinnati Reds' 34-year-old lefty is my single favorite pitcher to bet against. Dating back to last season, Minor's team is 1-17 in his last 18 starts with 14 of those losses coming by multiple runs.

He's an unmitigated disaster, and the Mets' lineup will take advantage.

Meanwhile, New York has six straight wins behind Carlos Carrasco as he's compiled a 1.50 ERA in that stretch. The Mets have won seven of eight as home favorites, with six of those wins coming by multiple runs. Trust the trends and enjoy fading Minor as much as I do.

Braves (-156) vs Red Sox

I see no reason to trust Rich Hill, who was already terrible at home then looked shaky in his first start back from the Injured List. Hill surrendered six hits and four runs to the Astros in just three innings, and I expect the Braves to get some frustration out on Hill after losing four of five to the Mets.

Charlie Morton has proven we can trust him. He's allowed two runs or fewer in seven of nine starts and just threw 6.2 shutout innings against the Phillies. Against a Boston lineup that ranks 22nd in OPS against right-handed pitchers over the last three weeks, I expect another strong performance.

Atlanta is 16-6 in its last 22 games as a road favorite while the Red Sox are 2-5 in their last seven as home underdogs. Back the better team and pitcher with the Braves.

Cubs (-200) vs Nationals

This is as much a fade of the Nationals, who are in a six-game losing streak, as it is support of Marcus Stroman, who has a 1.66 ERA since returning from the Injured List in early July.

Over his last 10 starts, Stroman has a FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) under 3.40 eight times. That's on par with MLB's best starters, yet Stroman still flies under the radar.

For comparison, Washington starter Paolo Espino has a FIP over 5.36 in six of his last seven starts. He's allowed seven home runs in his last four outings and the Cubs have the fifth-best OPS against right-handed pitchers at home since the All-Star break.

Chicago is 4-1 in its last five as home favorites while the Nationals are 3-12 in their last 15 as road underdogs. Stroman gets the job done once again tonight as Espino's struggles continue.

MLB Parlay for August 9, 2022

The "Chirp, Chirp" Parlay (+310)

  • Mets -1.5 (-150) vs Nationals
  • Braves (-156) vs Red Sox
  • Cubs (-200) vs Nationals

There we have it! We've got overwhelming pitching advantages in each of these matchups, and I'm confident we're rolling this putt in for birdie.

Odds of +310 pays out $77.56 on a $25 bet, so let's go ahead and run WynnBET dry, shall we?

Best of luck as always - let's get after it!
