Best MLB Parlay Picks Today (Trio of Unders With Value)
By Joe Summers
Football may be dominating the news cycle, but that doesn't mean we can't still make some cash on MLB parlays!
We nailed Friday's parlay with odds of +389 to give us some extra coin for college football's opening weekend, and I'm ready to make it back-to-back winners with today's edition. These MLB games flying under the radar is perfect in my eyes, because the value is ours for the taking.
There's a light evening slate ahead but still a number of pitching matchups worth targeting. Don't let the value pass you by - it's time for some winners.
Using odds from WynnBET Sportsbook, here are my favorite MLB parlay picks of the day:
Best MLB Parlay Picks Today
White Sox vs Mariners Under 7.5 (-120)
Lost in the Seattle Mariners' impressive seven-game winning streak is the fact the club is an under machine right now. The under is 9-2-1 in Seattle's last dozen contests and 13-2-1 in its last 16 as home underdogs. Against a Chicago White Sox team that's been cashing unders recently too, I'm expecting another low-scoring affair.
Lance Lynn is on a nice run for the White Sox, allowing just three earned runs over his last three starts. The under is 5-0-1 in his last six outings and he's posted an expected FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) below 2.72 in six of his last eight.
Mariners' starter Marco Gonzales has poor underlying metrics, but he's been strong at home and the under is 7-2 in his last nine starts at Safeco Field.
Trust each starting pitcher as these trends continue in a tight battle.
Diamondbacks vs Padres Under 8.0 (-105)
It's difficult fading two potent lineups, but I'm betting the under to cash for a third consecutive matchup between these clubs. Blake Snell is on a stellar run for the San Diego Padres, amassing an expected FIP below 3.92 in eight consecutive starts.
As a result, the under is 4-1 in his last five outings. The Arizona Diamondbacks are hitting well, but ranks just 26th in OPS against left-handed pitchers over the last three weeks, giving Snell an edge.
One of Arizona's top pitching prospects makes his MLB debut, and I think big things are in store for Ryne Nelson. He allowed three runs or fewer in three straight outings in the minors, capped by not surrendering a single earned run over seven innings last week.
The under is 7-1 in the Diamondbacks' last eight games as road underdogs and hit in four straight Padres' matchups as home favorites. With potentially poor weather on the horizon, I'm comfortable backing the under.
Guardians vs Royals Under 7.0 (-105)
Let's round out today's parlay with MLB's premier under team of late, the Cleveland Guardians. The under is 7-0-1 in Cleveland's last eight games as road favorites as the pitching staff excels while the lineup looks allergic to runs. It's hit in each of Triston McKenzie's last five starts and he threw six shutout innings against the Kansas City Royals already last month.
With three earned runs or fewer in each of his last five starts, McKenzie's form can be trusted against a poor Royals lineup.
Brady Singer may be in even sharper form though, as he's proven the best of Kansas City's young starters. The under is 8-2 in Singer's last 10 outings, and he's got a 2.54 ERA since July 1st.
In what should be a pitcher's dual between anemic lineups, back the under to improve to 13-1-1 in the Guardians' last 15 games.
MLB Parlay for September 5, 2022
The "Under The Radar" Parlay (+599)
- White Sox vs Mariners Under 7.5 (-120)
- Diamondbacks vs Padres Under 8.0 (-105)
- Guardians vs Royals Under 7.0 (-105)
Anyone else feeling a tad...under the weather? It's dreary outside, and we've got a bus-load of trends pointing to the under in all three of these matchups. After cashing Friday's parlay, I'm ready for back-to-back celebrations.
Odds of +599 pay out $149.70 on a $25 bet over at WynnBET Sportsbook, which would certainly help my bank account avoid going under zero. I could do this all night.
Best of luck as always - let's get after it!
