Best MLB Parlay Picks Today (Trust Rays at Wrigley, Fade Four Offenses on Monday)
By Peter Dewey
Every day at BetSided, one of our editors is looking to put together an MLB parlay to bet for that day's action. While parlays aren't going to make you a profitable sports bettor, they can be really fun to root for throughout a day full of baseball.
Here are three picks that I’m looking to parlay on Monday, April 18, with all odds via WynnBET Sportsbook:
Best MLB Parlay Picks Today (+603 Odds)
- Houston Astros-Los Angeles Angels First 5 Innings UNDER 4.5 (+120)
- Tampa Bay Rays Moneyline (-141)
- Arizona Diamondbacks-Washington Nationals First 5 Innings UNDER 4.5 (-115)
Houston Astros-Los Angeles Angels First 5 Innings UNDER 4.5 (+120)
The Houston Astros offense is struggling this season, but the team will send one of its better starters, Luis Garcia, to the mound on Monday after he allowed just two hits in four innings in his season debut.
The Angels have been hot, winning three straight games to take the division lead in the AL West, and starter Michael Lorenzen was dominant in his first outing against the Miami Marlins, allowing one run over six innings of work.
Since Houston is averaging just 3.44 runs per game, I think we see a slow start with two strong starters on the bump.
Tampa Bay Rays Moneyline (-141)
I’m fading Chicago Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks tonight when he takes on the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays are sending Shane McClanahan, arguably their ace, to the mound in the matchup.
Hendricks has been solid for years, but he got knocked around in the 2021 campaign, allowing 31 homers and a league-worst 200 hits. This season, Hendricks has already been touched up for 12 hits and seven earned runs in just nine innings through his first two starts.
The Rays should have no problem jumping on Hendricks after playing a tough series against the Chicago White Sox this past weekend.
Arizona Diamondbacks-Washington Nationals First 5 Innings UNDER 4.5 (-115)
I love some of these first five inning unders, as Madison Bumgarner and Josiah Gray are two starters who have also gotten out to strong starts this season.
Bumgarner has allowed just two runs through his first two starts, while Gray is coming off a performance where he allowed just one hit to the Atlanta Braves over five frames of work.
Neither of these offenses has gotten off the ground this season, as the Diamondbacks are dead last in runs per game (2.33) while Washington is 20th (4.00). I think both of these starters can keep this a low-scoring game through the first five before turning things over to the bullpen.
