I'm feeling lucky today. I waited to write this introduction until after I'd made my parlay selections, and the odds landed exactly on +777! That's an omen if I've ever seen one, and I'm ready to strike gold over at WynnBET Sportsbook.

We've got a pair of favorites, an under, and an upset in the cards for today's MLB slate. So let's not waste any more time. We've got money to make, after all.

Using odds from WynnBET, here are my favorite MLB parlay picks of the day:

Best MLB Parlay Picks Today

Braves (-265) vs Pirates/Under 8.0 (-135)

Max Fried hasn't allowed more than three runs in 10 consecutive starts and held the Pirates to one run over six strong innings already this year. The Atlanta Braves have seven consecutive wins as road favorites. Sitting just three games behind the New York Mets in the NL East, Atlanta has a golden opportunity to make up ground against a pitiful Pittsburgh Pirates team.

That being said, I'm impressed with JT Brubaker of late. He's had an expected FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) below 3.45 in four consecutive starts and just threw seven shutout innings against Boston.

Atlanta should win, with advantages offensively and in the bullpen, but I think Brubaker keeps it close. The under is 3-0-2 in the Braves' last five games as road favorites as the lineup is struggling a bit. Thus, I see a low-scoring Atlanta victory in store.

Giants First Five Innings (-230) vs Tigers

Carlos Rodon has a 1.49 ERA over his last four starts for the San Francisco Giants with 31 strikeouts in 24.1 innings. He's been dominant and takes on a Detroit Tigers lineup that easily has the worst OPS against left-handed pitchers this month.

Tigers' starter Drew Hutchison brings a 1-6 record and 4.23 ERA into the contest, while his MLB Statcast Pitching Profile is an absolute disaster:

Detroit has four straight losses behind Hutchison, but I don't feel comfortable trusting the Giants' bullpen. Thus, I'll look to the first five innings for value to back Rodon.

Angels First Five Innings (+155) vs Rays

Don't look now, but the Los Angeles Angels turned into a solid bet as road underdogs. They're on a 7-3 run in this spot and have rising starter Jose Suarez taking the mound today.

Suarez has a 1.22 ERA over his last four starts. Batters are hitting just .083 against his changeup in August and haven't recorded a single hit against his slider. The Tampa Bay Rays are middling against left-handed pitchers, and Corey Kluber hasn't done much on the mound recently to inspire confidence.

Kluber has a 6.32 ERA in his last six starts and surrendered a home run in four straight. With how well Suarez is pitching and how poorly Kluber is, I love the value on the Angels to take an early lead.

MLB Parlay for August 23, 2022

The "Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner!" Parlay (+777)

  • Braves (-265) vs Pirates
  • Braves vs Pirates Under 8.0 (-135)
  • Giants First Five Innings (-230) vs Tigers
  • Angels First Five Innings (+155) vs Rays

Bang, bang! I'm seated at my favorite slot machine, I've got the quarters in my pocket, and I'm ready to cash in on a lovely parlay today.

Odds of +777 pay out $194.30 on a $25 bet, so let's see those seven's ring over at WynnBET.

Best of luck as always. Let's get after it, folks!
