It's the weekend, you're not working, you want to pay for drinks, so let's make a three-team parlay on the diamonds to cover it.

Parlays come from all different types, whether it's favorites, underdogs, totals, so here's three of my favorites for Saturday, a variety pack of sorts. This is also more than enough of a payout to make sure the beers are on the sportsbooks.

Best MLB Parlay Picks Today

Phillies vs. Cubs UNDER 8 (-110)

It may look like Stroman has struggled this season, but it's not all that bad. Yes, his 4.69 ERA is underwhelming this season, but most of his poor starts come at Wrigley Field. He has a 7.94 ERA at home but that number drops to 2.45 on the road in six starts this season.

I expect another decent showing from the groundball inducing pitcher against the Phillies, but Wheeler should be in line to dominate the Cubs. While he allowed six earned runs in his final start before the All-Star break, he pitched back-to-back shutout outings against the Cardinals each time.

Wheeler has a 2.89 ERA this season and his numbers look very similar to last season when he finished second in Cy Young voting. I expect him to roll on Saturday, but I'm not going to lay this big of a price on the Phils, but look to the under. Both pitchers should have the upper hand.

PICK: UNDER 8 (-110)

Guardians (+155) vs. Chicago White Sox

I have to fade Lynn at this price. He simply doesn't warrant being this big of a favorite against a quality team like the Guardians.

The Guardians are a top 10 offense in terms of wRC+ in the month of July and will lean on Konnor Pilkington to give some length as a starter. He is a back of the rotation starter who did make his last start against the White Sox, allowing six hits and three earned runs over five innings. The rookie has been able to limit home runs, less than one per 9 innings, but does allow opponents to string together hits (10 per 9 innings).

If Pilkington can keep the ball in the park though, I like this Cleveland offense to outpace Lynn and take the second game of the doubleheader. This team has been outperforming expectations all season and I can't back Lynn at this number.

PICK: Guardians (+155)

Cardinals (-150) vs. Reds

It's tough to project too much as to what we'll see from Matz on Saturday, but while his ERA sits at 6.03 he was subjected to some bad luck in the field with a FIP of 4.26. He may not go too far into the game but Matz is backed by the far superior bullpen. The Cards are inside the top 10 in bullpen ERA and should give him proper support, even if he only goes around three innings.

On the other side, Minor missed the start of this season, but it's been tough sledding since entering the Cincinnati rotation. He has an ERA of 6.21 while allowing more than 10 hits per 9 innings across eight starts. Against a sweet swinging Cards lineup that has NL MVP candidate Paul Goldschmidt.

Goldschmidt went deep in the All-Star game and will look to solidify his first ever MVP with a big late summer push, starting against the outmatched Minor. 'Goldy' is hitting an MLB best .330 with 20 home runs and 70 runs batted in.

I'm going to take the better team at this reduced price due to some questions around Matz's availability.

PICK: Cardinals ML (-150)

Saturday Party Starting Parlay

  • Phillies-Cubs UNDER 8
  • Guardians ML (+155)
  • Cardinals ML (-150)

A $100 parlay pays out $711.
