Best MLB Prop Bets Today

  • Charlie Morton OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-104)
  • Walker Buehler OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (+100)
  • Brandon Woodruff OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-130)

Charlie Morton OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-104)

Morton missed this line by one strikeout in his opening start, but tonight is a great matchup for him. The Padres strikeout at the eighth-highest rate in the majors. In the last three games, they’ve struck out an average of 11.33 times per game –which is the worst in the league. Morton went five innings in his first start of the season. If he can give the Braves another good outing, innings-wise, then I like this number. – Donnavan Smoot

Walker Buehler OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (+100)

Walker Buehler and the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday night, and I think this is a post where we can back Buehler with some value.

The Dodgers’ ace struck out five batters in just five innings (78 pitches) in his season debut, and I think he gets a little longer of a leash in his second start.

Buehler did that against the Colorado Rockies, who are surprisingly tough to strike out early this season, ranking 11th best in baseball. The Reds, on the other hand, are 25th in strikeouts per game, getting punched out an average of 9.83 times per game.

I think Buehler will be able to clear this number, especially if Dave Roberts lets him cross the 80-pitch threshold tonight. – Peter Dewey

Brandon Woodruff OVER 5.5 Strikeouts vs. STL (-130)

I wrote earlier today why I like the Brewers and Woodruff to win outright in their home opener vs. the Cardinals this afternoon. Woodruff's ability to bounce back after a rough outing is a key reason why.

Last season, Woodruff had a rough go in his first start before reeling off an ERA of less than 1 in his next 10. In 9 of those 10, he finished with six or more strikeouts.

The Cardinals have been good so far and making contact, ranking in the top 5 in strikeout percentage, but Woodruff at home in a bounce-back spot is a perfect spot to jump on board. --Ben Heisler
