  • MLB Best Prop Bets Record: 14-14-0

Here are the plays our team is eyeing for tonight’s slate with all odds via WynnBET:

Best MLB Prop Bets Today

  • Eduardo Rodgriguez OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-115)
  • Luis Severino UNDER 4.5 Hits Allowed (-105)
  • Shohei Ohtani OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (+100)
  • Jose Berrios OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (+120)

Eduardo Rodriguez OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-115)

Rodriguez has the privilege of playing the Yankees today, which should be good for any pitcher. New York strikes out at the fifth highest rate in the league, swinging and missing 9.55 times per game. Even in a rough game against the Red Sox last week, Rodriguez still had five strikeouts. With the Yankees struggling to get runs on the board, this is a good spot for Rodriguez to stay on the mound longer and rack up K’s. – Donnavan Smoot

Luis Severino UNDER 4.5 Hits Allowed (-105)

Luis Severino was masterful in his last start for the New York Yankees, allowing just two hits over five innings of work against a vaunted Toronto Blue Jays offense.

Now, he gets a Detroit Tigers offense that ranks 28th in runs per game (3.00) and 28th in hits per game (6.10) through the first few weeks of the 2022 MLB season.

Severino has allowed just seven hits through his first two starts, and the Yankees are easing him in pitch count wise, as he’s thrown 65 and 83 pitches so far. Given his arm issues in the past, I don’t expect New York to stretch him out to 100 pitches any time soon.

When he’s healthy, Severino is one of the more dominant pitchers in baseball, and I think he shows that against the Tigers, who have tallied four or fewer hits in three straight full games. – Peter Dewey

Shohei Ohtani OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (+100)

Ohtani has faced Houston already this season, fanning 9 batters in less than 5 innings. Now we get even money on him to clear 6? He has a career strikeout rate of 28.6% but that has creeped up to north of 31% this season. If he is able to strikeout 1 per inning and get to a quality start, this is a winning ticket. After getting knocked around by Texas last time out in a hitter friendly park, I think we see a bounce back performance. – Reed Wallach

Jose Berrios OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (+120)

It's been a less-than-stellar start for Berrios this year. After an atrocious start on Opening Day where he lasted 1/3 of an inning, he bounced back with a hard earned five innings and three runs vs. the Yankees.

So why do I expect him to go over 5.5 strikeouts when he's only racked up five total in two starts? The short answer is Berrios gained plenty of confidence back; gritting through five without his best stuff. When he arrived in Toronto, his strikeouts-per-nine-innings was the highest of his career; averaging 10 K's per nine in 12 starts.

The Red Sox, while a dangerous offense, do have plenty of swing-and-miss in their game, and if Berrios can go past five innings for the first time this year, I think he'll get past his prop number as well. -- Ben Heisler
