Yesterday, our toughest bet -- Zac Gallen against the Guardians -- ended up being our only winner. The team went 1-3 overall, missing out on two props by the hook.

Hopefully, today's lineup of picks goes significantly better than yesterday's. We're looking at two pitchers -- one OVER and one UNDER -- and even diving into a first 5 innings prop.

You can also find game-by-game betting plays and previews for every matchup on our MLB Picks page, as well as each team's probable pitchers, weather report and more.

  • Reds-Marlins First 5 Innings UNDER 3.5 Runs (-113) -- Sports Interaction Sportsbook

Cincinnati Reds-Miami Marlins First 5 Innings UNDER 3.5 Runs (-113)

Miami Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara (1.99 ERA) is on the mound in this game, but he isn’t the only reason I like the UNDER in the first five innings of this matchup.

The Marlins have the worst OPS in baseball against lefties and are 30th in OPS over the last 30 days entering a matchup with Cincinnati Reds lefty Mike Minor.

Both of these teams should struggle to get on the board early, so I don’t mind laying the juice at -125 to back the UNDER. – Peter Dewey

Blake Snell UNDER 6.5 Strikeouts (-114)

I’ll fade Blake Snell any chance I can get, and I think we have a good spot to do it tonight when he and the Padres take on the Rockies. Colorado has the fifth lowest strikeout rate against lefties this season at 19%, so with Snell being a lefty, I’m going to take the UNDER on his strikeout total tonight.

Snell has already faced the Rockies three times this season, and he only surpassed this number in one of those three starts. He has also only surpassed this total three times in his last seven starts.

I’m willing to bet he goes under 6.5 strikeouts again tonight, and I think at -120, it’s a good value bet to make. – Iain MacMillan

Jose Urquidy OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (-130)

I’m going to try this again. I backed Urquidy his last time out against the Mariners, but he came up short. Today, he’s going to be at home against a Red Sox team that was a clear seller at the deadline. Although he got touched up pretty badly in his first start against the Red Sox, this is a completely different Boston team.

Urquidy’s opponent batting average at home is .230. He’s an extremely solid pitcher at home and I’ll back him one more time tonight. – Donnavan Smoot
