Best MLB Prop Bets Today
- Max Scherzer UNDER 7.5 Strikeouts (+105)
- Zach Eflin OVER 4 Strikeouts (-115)
- Zach Eflin UNDER 4 Strikeouts (-115)
Max Scherzer UNDER 7.5 Strikeouts (+105)
Mad Max has seemingly picked up right where he left off; continuing to mow down hitters with his new team in 2022.
Scherzer comes off back-to-back 10-strikeout games over seven innings and faces a familiar Phillies lineup that he's gone 15-4 with a 2.47 ERA against over his long career.
However, the strikeout prop feels a tad bit inflated against a good, patient Phillies lineup. Philadelphia is middle-of-the pack in strikeout percentage this year and currently rank top-5 in total runs scored.
Scherzer has gotten past this number in his last two games, but I expect more of a battle than he's accustomed to tonight. It will be close, but I'll take my chances with plus-odds on a challenging number to hit for any pitcher. -- Ben Heisler
Zach Eflin UNDER 4 Strikeouts (-115)
Zach Eflin isn't exactly known as a strikeout pitcher, averaging only 7.5 strikeouts per game in his career. This year hasn't been any different, as he's only reached five Ks in one start so far this season.
Things won't get any easier for him today. He'll get the start for the Phillies against the Mets who have the second best strikeout rate in MLB, striking out on only 20.1% of plate appearances.
I'll take the under on his strikeout total tonight. -- Iain MacMillan
Zach Eflin has tough matchup on Sunday Night Baseball against the Mets and ace Max Scherzer.
Eflin has been solid to start the season, posting a 3.20 ERA, but he has cleared this strikeout number in just one start.
The Mets have one of the better offenses in baseball: sixth in MLB in strikeouts per game, punching out just 7.73 times. I don’t see Eflin slowing down the Mets too much, and it’s worth noting that even in a two-hit, six-inning performance in his last start, he only needed three punch outs.
