The BetSided Saturday crew of Donnavan Smoot and Reed Wallach bounced back from an 0-3 Friday with a 2-0 Saturday, bringing the team's record back to a few games over .500.

Now, the Sunday slate is upon us as we look to keep the streak alive with a few strikeout props on getaway day.

For today's plays, we head to Minnesota for a top of the AL Central showdown between the Cleveland Guardians and Minnesota Twins; as well as the Sunday Night Baseball Game of the Night in St. Louis between the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals.

Here are our top two prop bets for Sunday's MLB slate, with all odds coming from WynnBET.

Best MLB Prop Bets for Sunday, May 15

  • Triston McKenzie OVER 5 strikeouts (-115)
  • Carlos Rodón UNDER 7.5 strikeouts (-130)

Triston McKenzie OVER 5 strikeouts (-115) - Cleveland Guardians at Minnesota Twins

I'm very surprised that WynnBET is offering this line at just 5, when most consensus sportsbooks have McKenzie's strikeout prop at 5.5, but I'll happily take the discount as the Guardians wrap their series with the Twins.

McKenzie's strikeout numbers are down slightly from a season ago (10.2 K's per nine innings vs. 9.2 in 2022), but his walk rate is also way down, as is his home runs/nine innings; down to a miniscule 0.31. He's still averaging more than strikeout per inning and has gone at least 5.2 innings in his last three starts, striking out over five in five of his six starts this season.

Minnesota still strikes out at a high volume at 23.5% of their plate appearances, but does so even more vs. right-handed pitching at 27%. Even more interesting? The Twins lead the majors in strikeouts at home vs. right-handers as well.

McKenzie should get over the hill to make it over five K's in six of seven. -- Ben Heisler

Carlos Rodón UNDER 7.5 strikeouts (-130) - San Francisco Giants at St. Louis Cardinals

Rodón has been fantastic for the San Francisco Giants to start the 2022 season, but I’m fading him here against a solid St. Louis Cardinals team.

The Cardinals average just 7.3 strikeouts per game this season (third in MLB), and they are even better at home, posting just 6.71 punch outs per game. Even though Rodón has cleared this number in every game this season, except his start against the Los Angeles Dodgers, I expect St. Louis to stick to what they've done all season; continuing to put the ball in play. -- Peter Dewey
