Best MLB Prop Bets Today

  • Erick Fedde OVER 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-115)
  • Jose Urquidy OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-105)

Erick Fedde OVER 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-115)

My favorite prop comes in the Washington Nationals-New York Mets game, where you have to fade starter Erick Fedde for Washington.

This season, Fedde has really struggled, hence his 5.29 ERA and 4.93 Fielding Independent Pitching so far in 2022. Over his last 12 starts, Fedde has allowed three or more earned runs in seven of them, and the Nats have shown no issue with letting their starters work into games even if they aren’t pitching well this season.

The last time he faced the Mets, Fedde lasted just 1.1 innings, allowing six earned runs on eight hits. Not great.

New York’s offense should tee off on the struggling righty, who has a 6.75 ERA since that start against New York on May 30. – Peter Dewey

Jose Urquidy OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-105)

Since Aug. 1, the Los Angeles Angels have struck out on 26.3% of their plate appearances. Only the Detroit Tigers have a worse mark.

Now, they'll face the Houston Astros and Jose Urquidy, who struck out eight batters in only six innings in his last start against the Halos back on July 2.

Urquidy has surpassed this number just once in his last four starts, but that just means we're getting better value on this prop bet than we would have if he had been coming off huge strikeout performances.

We've already seen what he can do to this Angels lineup, so I love the over 5.5 strikeouts for him this evening at -105 odds. – Iain MacMillan
