Best MLB Prop Bets Record to Date
- MLB Best Prop Bets Record: 60-54-0
Here are the plays our team is eyeing for tonight’s slate with odds coming from WynnBET and consensus lines.
Best MLB Prop Bets Today
- Pablo Lopez OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (-138)
- Max Scherzer UNDER 7.5 Strikeouts (+115)
- Nick Pivetta UNDER 4.5 Strikeouts (-145)
- Max Scherzer OVER 7.5 Strikeouts (-135)
Pablo Lopez OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (-138)
This prop has a little bit of juice, but it’s worth it. Lopez hasn’t missed this line once this season. When he’s on the mound, Miami lets him stay out there. He’s pitched at least seven innings in three of his five starts this season. I’m backing this pick off of volume and consistency. – Donnavan Smoot
Max Scherzer UNDER 7.5 Strikeouts (+115)
Max Scherzer has been fantastic in his first season with the New York Mets, but I think he is fade-worthy on Wednesday night.
Scherzer is facing a pesky St. Louis Cardinals offense that is second in baseball in strikeouts per game at just 7.33 this season. With Scherzer’s prop set at 7.5 strikeouts, I think this is a spot to go under at plus money, especially since he’s cleared 7.5 punch outs in just three of his seven starts this season. – Peter Dewey
Nick Pivetta UNDER 4.5 Strikeouts (-145)
Pivetta's strikeout rate is down considerably this season, from 10.2 K/9 to 8.8 this season, while walking nearly 4 batters per season. I'm concerned how many innings Pivetta will be able to pitch against a disciplined Houston lineup that has the 6th lowest strikeout rate since the beginning of May and is top 5 in walk rate. There are plenty of factors to pay up and go under on Pivetta's K prop. – Reed Wallach
Max Scherzer OVER 7.5 Strikeouts (-140)
Mad Max has failed to hit the over on this number in his last two starts, but that's not stopping me from betting him to clear it tonight against the St. Louis Cardinals.
At home this season, Scherzer's strikeout percentage is just under 34%, averaging 11.25 strikeouts per nine innings. He also faces a Cardinals lineup that sees their strikeout rate increase significantly away from Busch Stadium in St. Louis; moving up to 23.8% from 19.9%.
Scherzer also loves facing his childhood team; racking up 11.6 strikeouts per nine against the Cardinals. There's too many positive trends in play for me to fade this number. – Ben Heisler
