With every other series finished, we turn our full attention to the Game 5 of the ALDS between the Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees.

I hit my three-leg parlay on Saturday, so we can keep that momentum going with a same game parlay tonight. It’s Aaron Civale and Jameson Taillon on the mound tonight with the season on the line. Let’s go!

Guardians vs. Yankees Same Game Parlay for ALDS Game 5

  • Guardians +132 vs. Yankees
  • Jameson Taillon Under 3.5 Ks (-174)
  • Aaron Civale Under 3.5 Ks (-120)
  • Jose Ramirez Over 1.5 Total Bases (+125)

Guardians +132 vs. Yankees

Of course, we have to first pick a side in this do or die Game 5, and for me it’s the underdog. I don’t really have faith in either starting pitcher in this game, but I trust the Cleveland bullpen more than I do the New York relievers.

It’s close for sure, as these were two of the best bullpens in the league this year. The Yankees pen finished with a 2.97 ERA and a 6.0 WAR. The Guardians covered a few less innings and had a 3.05 ERA, but a 3.47 expected FIP to the Yankees 3.80.

In games like this, it becomes all about run prevention, and that is what the Guardians do best. They will pitch well, play good defense, and offensively they know how to string together a couple of hits and play small ball. All of those things really come into play in a win or go home game.

Jameson Taillon Under 3.5 Ks (-174)

Taillon is the last resort as a starting pitcher for New York in this series and we have already seen him struggling coming out of the bullpen. Game 2 was his first time pitching in the postseason and he now has an infinite ERA. He is still yet to record an out.

I expect Aaron Boone to use him as more of an opener, who will only go three innings or so. That’s just not enough time for a pitcher with a 35th percentile strikeout rate to rack up four Ks.

Aaron Civale Under 3.5 Ks (-120)

The same thing I said for Taillon goes for Civale. This is going to be a bullpen game and Civale could even get roughed up right off the bat. He has a 5.40 ERA in the first inning this season and only a slightly above average strikeout rate. Both teams will give the early hook to their starter, so these unders should both cash.

Jose Ramirez Over 1.5 Total Bases (+125)

The Guardians' offense has not been great this postseason, but it has been timely. They seem to get clutch hits and the right times and Ramirez is the unquestioned leader of this team. If they are going to win, he will play a big role in that.

Parlay Odds: +1104
