The League Championship Series is off to a phenomenal start for the Major League Baseball postseason.

The Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres are tied in the National League and have a night off tonight, so the full spotlight turns to Game 2 of the ALCS.

The New York Yankees and Houston Astros are once again fighting to get into the World Series with Luis Severino and Framber Valdez on the mound tonight from Houston.

With just one game on the board to bet in the Big Leagues, let's go through my favorite plays on the board and combine them into a same game parlay this evening. Tonight, we have a 3-leg SGP with odds of +488 at FanDuel Sportsbook, meaning a $25 wager would win $122.23!

Yankees vs. Astros Same Game Parlay Picks - ALCS Game 2

  • Yankees vs. Astros Over 7 (-110)
  • Jeremy Peña Over 1.5 Total Bases (+130)
  • Framber Valdez Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-152)

Yankees vs. Astros Over 7 (-110)

Yesterday’s game was relatively low-scoring, finishing at a total of 6 with a 4-2 Astros win.

Luis Severino and Framber Valdez are really good pitchers, but I expect the Yankee offense will play much better without having to travel tonight. They looked gassed coming off their last two games with two days of flights from Cleveland to New York to Houston, and Justin Verlander took advantage with 11 strikeouts over 6.0 innings.

Severino allowed three runs against Cleveland in his last outing and that offense was nothing compared to the firepower that Houston brings.

When both teams have equal rest, the Yankees were 95-60 during the regular season. It may not even feel like a high scoring game, but these two teams can easily get to 5-3 and that cashes our over.

Jeremy Peña Over 1.5 Total Bases (+130)

How does a team let Carlos Correa walk in free agency and get better? Well, a rookie named Jeremy Peña struts into the major leagues, hits second in the lineup and lights the world on fire in October.

Peña has a 1.181 OPS so far during the postseason. He hit his second homer last night and his slugging percentage is up to .800. As a matter of fact, he's slugging almost 200 points better than Aaron Judge in the postseason.

Framber Valdez Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-116)

Valdez had six strikeouts in his last outing, but he isn’t a strikeout pitcher. He gets nearly 70% ground balls and throws his sinker 50% of the time, generating a 12.1% whiff rate with that pitch. He also doesn't miss many bats with his curveball. His 32nd percentile chase rate indicates that not a lot of batters tend to venture out of the zone.

In the postseason, starters have a shorter and shorter hook, so I don’t see him staying on the mound long enough to rack up six strikeouts with a 54th percentile strikeout rate.
