Forget opening Christmas gifts, decorating the tree, or visiting family. The greatest Christmas Day tradition is betting on NBA Christmas Day games.

As always, there are five games to watch and wager on, starting with a noon tip-off between the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks.

The Knick are coming off back-to-back losses, and are looking to close in on the 76ers in the Eastern Conference standings.

The next game on the Christmas Day slate will feature a matchup between LeBron James vs. Luka Doncic. LeBron James is averaging 25.96 points, 7.18 assists, and 7.76 rebounds in 16 Christmas Day games throughout his career.

With an injury to Anthony Davis and the Mavericks not having any kind of supporting cast, this game will truly be a LeBron vs. Luka showdown. Dallas is a sizable 8.5-point favorite.

The middle of the Christmas Day sandwich is a rematch of a Christmas Day showdown last season between the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics. The Bucks won the game 117-113, but the Celtics got the last laugh, eliminating Milwaukee in the Eastern Conference semi finals on their way to a conference title and an NBA runner-up finish.

The Celtics are favored to beat the Bucks in their first meeting this season.

The defending champs will play in the penultimate game of the day, hosting the Memphis Grizzlies. The Warriors will be a shell of themselves on Christmas, missing at least Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins. As a result, the Grizzlies are set as road favorites.

One of the best Christmas Day betting trends is fading the defending champs. The team that had won the NBA Championship in the previous season is just 4-10 against the spread the past 14 times the defending champs has played on Christmas.

Finally, the Christmas Day finale will be a Western Conference showdown between the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets enter Christmas Day in first place in the Western Conference and Nikola Jokic is in the conversation for winning his third straight MVP award.

The Nuggets are listed 4.5-point home favorites.
