Best NBA Prop Bets Today for Celtics vs. Clippers (Fade Kawhi Leonard on Monday)
By Peter Dewey
Arguably the best matchup in the NBA on Monday night is between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Clippers, featuring stars such as Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.
With so many superstars on the floor, it’s only right that we place a few prop bets on this game.
Here are my favorites for Monday night’s marquee matchup:
Celtics vs. Clippers Best NBA Prop Bets
- Malcolm Brogdon OVER 3.5 Assists
- Boston Celtics First Quarter Moneyline
- Kawhi Leonard UNDER 17.5 Points
Malcolm Brogdon OVER 3.5 Assists
Malcolm Brogdon has been an elite playmaker for the Celtics, averaging 3.8 assists per game in a bench role this season.
He’s cleared 3.5 assists in six of his last eight games, and he should see an expanded role tonight with two rotation players, Al Horford and Robert Williams III, out for Boston.
The Celtics needed to get acclimated to Brogdon being one of the primary ball-handlers, but he really appears to be coming into his role as of late. Back the OVER with confidence against a tough Clippers defense.
Boston Celtics First Quarter Moneyline
The Celtics have the best first quarter net rating (18.6) in the NBA this season, and a big part of it has to do with their offense that ranks No. 1 in the league.
The Clippers are just 28th in the NBA in offense, and while they are in the top half of the league in net rating in the first quarter, it pales in comparison to the Celtics at 4.8.
Los Angeles may have a hard time keeping up with Boston’s 3-point shooting (No. 1 in the NBA), so I like getting a short moneyline on Boston to lead early.
Kawhi Leonard UNDER 17.5 Points
Kawhi Leonard has not been the same dominant scorer for the Clippers that he’s been in the past as he works his way back from an ACL tear.
The two-time NBA Finals MVP is averaging just 11.6 points per game this season, and he’s failed to score more than 16 points in a game all season.
I’d fade Kawhi until we see him get back to his usual self this season.
