Russell Westbrook UNDER 15.5 Points (-110)
I’ve never seen a player as shook as Russell Westbrook was against the New York Knicks. Westbrook was an abysmal 1-for-10 from the field and was booed by Lakers fans at home. He’s had several streaks this season where he’s scored under 16 points, and I think tonight will be another one. On top of his poor shooting, LeBron James and Anthony Davis are back and will likely contribute to a majority of the scoring tonight.
Westbrook will have to overcome his shooting, Lakers fans and Jrue Holiday tonight. Westbrook was benched to close the game on Saturday night. If he finds himself in a similar situation, his night could be over early – leading to the under. – Donnavan Smoot
Nikola Jokic OVER 24.5 Points (-125)
Nikola Jokic has cleared this line in back-to-back games despite taking just 10 and 15 shots in those games, and now he gets a New York Knicks team that he terrorized for 32 points on 14-of-19 shooting earlier this season.
The Knicks have a solid defensive rating this year, but they are on a back-to-back in this game and may have some tired legs after blowing a lead to Utah.
Jokic is averaging 25.9 points per game, and he’s cleared this line in nine of his last 11 games. This is an easy bet for me tonight. – Peter Dewey
Russell Westbrook OVER 6.5 Assists (+105)
I'll admit, this is purely a numbers play as Russ and the Lakers are in a bizarre state at the moment, but I'll take the plus-odds for him to get to seven dimes tonight against Milwaukee.
Both teams play at a top 4 and 6 pace in the league, which benefits the way Westbrook likes to operate. While he's gone under in his last two games vs. the Knicks and Clippers, those are also two of the better defensive and slower paced teams in the league. Meanwhile, against teams like the Blazers, Hawks and Hornets, he averaged 10 assists over those three, all while averaging over 35 minutes.
Unless the Lakers think they're going to get some sort of return at the deadline for him, they need him creating open lanes for his teammates if they're going to have a shot to hang around vs. the Bucks. -- Ben Heisler
