Best NBA Prop Bets Today for Timberwolves vs. Suns (Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert Should Eat Down Low)
By Peter Dewey
Two Western Conference contenders face off on Tuesday night, as the Phoenix Suns host the Minnesota Timberwolves in primetime.
Minnesota is off to a bit of a slow start after trading for Rudy Gobert this offseason, while the Suns are in the midst of a four-game winning streak.
The Suns are favored in this game, but if you aren’t sold on betting a side, there’s always an avenue to bet player props, especially in a primetime matchup.
Here are three that I’m looking at for Tuesday’s game:
Timberwolves vs. Suns Best NBA Prop Bets
- Rudy Gobert OVER 13.5 Rebounds
- Chris Paul UNDER 29.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists
- Karl-Anthony Towns OVER 22.5 Points
Rudy Gobert OVER 13.5 Rebounds
This is a big number, but Gobert has cleared four times this season and is averaging 14.7 rebounds per game.
Shockingly, the Wolves played the San Antonio Spurs three times in their first seven games, and they were the only team to hold Gobert this number… doing it in each matchup!
The Suns are banged up in the frontcourt without Deandre Ayton, which means Jock Landale and Bismack Biyombo have the pleasure of dealing with Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns down low. This should be a big game on the glass for Gobert.
Chris Paul UNDER 29.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists
Chris Paul has taken a bit of a step back as a scorer this season, averaging just 9.3 points per game while shooting 34.6 percent from the field.
He’s cleared this line in just one game all season, and it came in a four 3-pointer performance against the Golden State Warriors. In his other five games, Paul is shooting just 1-for-16 from beyond the arc.
The assists will always be there for Paul, but he’s going to need to score more than nine points to clear this line. Against the Wolves No. 7 defense, I don’t see CP3 clearing this total.
Karl-Anthony Towns OVER 22.5 Points
Similar to Gobert, this is a great matchup for Karl-Anthony Towns with Ayton out.
KAT is averaging 21.3 points per game this season, clearing his prop for tonight in just three games, but he’s seen his usage steady over the last few games.
After taking 10, 25 and nine shots in his first three outings this season, Towns has attempted 14 or more shots in each of his last four, averaging 23.8 points per game over that stretch.
The Wolves have to take advantage of Phoenix’s banged up frontcourt, so I’ll back Towns to turn in another strong scoring performance tonight.
