Best NBA Prop Bets Today

  • LeBron James OVER 28.5 Points (-125)
  • Khris Middleton OVER 17.5 Points (-125)
  • Gary Payton II UNDER 6 Rebounds (-125)

LeBron James OVER 28.5 Points (-125)

I'm riding the trends with LBJ, who is averaging 35 points per game over his last four games for the depleted Lakers. We saw James operate as a small ball center on Christmas as well, which should open up mismatches for him against slow-footed big men. It doesn't hurt that the Lakers will be facing the Rockets, who are allowing 113 points per 100 possessions, per NBA.com, the third worst mark in the league.

As questions swirl around the Lakers roster, the only constant is James, and I expect him to continue to put up gaudy point totals. – Reed Wallach

Khris Middleton OVER 17.5 Points (-125)

Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton is having a bit of a down year scoring the ball, averaging 18.3 points per game while shooting 41.7 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from beyond the arc.

However, Middleton has looked a lot better as of late, clearing the 20 point mark in nine of his last 11 games. Tonight, he and the Bucks will face a makeshift Orlando Magic squad that is just 26th in defensive rating and 25th in opponent effective field goal percentage.

I’m surprised to see Middleton’s prop this low, especially since he had 17 points on Christmas Day, which was one of the two times he’s scored fewer than 17.5 points this month.

I’ll gladly back the over in this matchup. – Peter Dewey

Gary Payton II UNDER 6 Rebounds (-125)

Payton has emerged as a solid contributor for the Warriors over the last four games, but after going for 14 and eight against a talented Suns squad on Christmas Day, his line feels a bit too inflated for both points (12.5) as well as rebounds when they host the Nuggets.

Not having Draymond Green should, in theory, help his chances of filling out more of the stat sheet, but Andrew Wiggins is now back, which may cancel some of that opportunity out. Payton has gone for the OVER in two of his last four games, but again, he's still not spending a ton of time around the rim.

WynnBET also has the number slightly higher at 6 compared to the consensus 5.5, so rather than chase the over, I'll take the discount on the under instead. -- Ben Heisler
