Sam Ehlinger started his first NFL game last week and impressed, but now the Indianapolis Colts and Ehlinger head to New England to face Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. Belichick has a history of causing problems for young quarterbacks, he’s had Sam Darnold seeing Ghosts and Zach Wilson getting so bored that he threw three interceptions, I wonder what it will be this week. Unless Ehlinger has Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, the betting unders in the prop market could be valuable.

Prop Bets for Colts vs. Patriots

  • Sam Ehlinger Under 200.5 Pass Yards (-115)
  • Deon Jackson Over 55.5 Rush Yards (-115)
  • Deon Jackson Anytime Touchdown (+160)

Sam Ehlinger Under 200.5 Pass Yards (-115)

Ehlinger actually looked pretty good last week against Washington, he threw for 201 yards and no interceptions in his first career NFL start. Ron Rivera and Jack Del Rio nearly held Ehlinger under 200 yards passing, so Belichick will make it even tougher this week.

Deon Jackson Over 55.5 Rush Yards (-115)

Jackson has been “the guy” twice before this year and he has done a great job in the role. He did more damage in the passing game in his two starts, but that was with Matt Ryan at quarterback and all Ryan was capable of was dump-offs. Jackson rushed for 62 and 42 yards, respectively filling in for Taylor and I think we see similar production on Sunday.

Ehlinger is still going to dump it off, but I would expect the Colts to try to run the ball more to take the pressure off Ehlinger. The Patriots are allowing 4.8 yards per carry this season.

Deon Jackson Anytime Touchdown (+160)

If he is the guy then he will have to find his way into the endzone this week. Jackson only has one touchdown this season, but the Colts will need to run the ball against New England. With Jonathan Taylor out with an injury this week, expect Jackson to come through.
