Best NFL Prop Bets for Packers vs. Lions in Week 9 (Green Bay's Offense Finally Finds Its Footing)
By Josh Yourish
The Green Bay Packers have had a tough time since Davante Adams was traded away, but their offense might be able to get back on track against the 1-6 Detroit Lions. Aaron Rodgers is building a bit more chemistry with his young receivers, this could be a high scoring affair. The Detroit defense could be just what Rodgers needs, and if we get an offensive explosion there will be some valuable prop bets on Sunday. Here are my favorites.
Prop Bets for Packers vs. Lions
- First Half Over 24
- Romeo Doubs Anytime TD
- Aaron Jones Over 89.5 Rush+Rec Yards
First Half Over 24
The Packers offense has been bad this season, but in the first half of games it has looked a bit more functional. Matt LaFleur is a good gameplanning play-caller and has cooked up some successful shot plays on the script. When Rodgers has to go off-script this year he hasn’t trusted his receivers but I expect the Packers to start hot. The Lions are also one of the best first half offenses in the NFL. They are seventh in the league in first half scoring, averaging 14.0 points in the first half.
Romeo Doubs Anytime TD
Doubs is the No. 1 receiver in this offense. Last week he made four catches for 62 yards including an impressive, acrobatic, touchdown catch. It is plays like that, that earn Aaron Rodgers’ trust. I think Doubs will see even more targets especially in the red zone and will catch another touchdown this week.
Aaron Jones Over 98.5 Rush+Rec Yards
Jones is the most dynamic player on the Packers offense. Sometimes Matt LaFleur forgets about him, but last week he was a huge part of the game plan with 20 carries and four catches. The Lions defense has allowed 5.1 yards per carry this season, so if Jones gets 20+ touches this week he will easily cash the over here.
