The Seattle Seahawks have been one of the biggest surprises in the NFL and now they have a chance to really assert themselves this week against the Los Angeles Chargers. LA is 4-2, but might be vulnerable to what Seattle does best.

Can Geno Smith outduel Justin Herbert? He might not have to because this game should be won on the ground. That makes for some interesting prop bets, and here are my three favorites.

Best Prop Bets for Seahawks vs. Chargers

  • Austin Ekeler Over 60.5 Rush Yards (-115)
  • Kenneth Walker II Over 67.5 Rush Yards (-115)
  • Tyler Lockett Under 63.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Austin Ekeler Over 60.5 Rush Yards (-115)

The Seahawks have given up the most rush yards in the entire NFL so far this year with 995 yards allowed. Their opponents have gone for five yards a carry. They pretty much revamped their secondary in one draft with Tariq Woolen and Coby Bryant locking things up.

However, this team is very susceptible on the ground and teams have been taking advantage. Joe Lombardi, LA’s OC seems to be very conservative in terms of taking shots downfield, so I imagine if he’s getting five yards a pop then Ekeler will keep getting the ball.

Kenneth Walker II Over 67.5 Rush Yards (-125)

You thought the Seahawks run defense was bad? Brandon Staley’s defense is SO much worse. Sure they’ve only given up 750 rushing yards, but they allow 5.6 yards a carry. That is absurd and tied with the Giants for the worst in the league. Since Rashad Penny has gone out with an injury, Walker has gone eight carries for 88 yards against New Orleans and 21 carries for 97 yards against Arizona last week. He’s the guy in the backfield and he’ll easily rip off five yards a carry if not six or seven.

Tyler Lockett Under 63.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

Tyler Lockett has only missed two games in his career, so I don’t think he’ll miss this week, but he could be limited against LA. He hasn’t practiced the last two days after sustaining a hamstring injury against Arizona. There’s always a chance that the hamstring goes again and Lockett only plays a quarter or that he just isn’t effective as a downfield threat and doesn’t reach this total.
