The Jacksonville Jaguars have a chance to win the AFC South division this season, but it starts with winning in Week 17 against the Houston Texans.

Houston has the worst record in the NFL, and it’s become a tough team to even bet props on, with quarterback changes and an injury to running back Dameon Pierce.

Still, there is a way to attack this game in the prop market, and I have three plays that I love, including a prop for Evan Engram, who has become a savior at tight end in many fantasy leagues.

Jaguars vs. Texans Best NFL Prop Bets

  • Trevor Lawrence OVER 1.5 Touchdown Passes
  • Evan Engram OVER 48.5 Receiving Yards
  • Texans Team Total UNDER 20.5 Points

Trevor Lawrence OVER 1.5 Touchdown Passes

Trevor Lawrence is playing the best football of his career right now, throwing for multiple scores in four of his last six games.

Lawrence fell short of this line in Week 16, but he was in horrible weather against a tough New York Jets defense.

Houston is one of the worst teams in the league on both sides of the ball, so I expect the Jags offense to get back on track in Week 17.

Evan Engram OVER 48.5 Receiving Yards

Evan Engram has become the focal point of the Jaguars' passing game in recent weeks, catching 41 passes over his last four games.

He’s cleared this receiving yards line in three straight games, posting 162, 62 and 113 yards.

Lawrence has looked his way early and often, and Engram is a matchup nightmare with his speed at the tight end position. He should have another big game against Houston.

Texans Team Total UNDER 20.5 Points

Yes, the Texans scored 24 points in Week 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs, but they’ve fallen short of this line in seven of their last nine matchups.

Davis Mills and Kyle Allen are both uninspiring options at quarterback, and the Jags locked down the Jets in Week 16, who had some poor quarterback play themselves.

With so much on the line, I’d expect the Jaguars to try and shut down Houston from the opening kickoff.
