The Los Angeles Rams seem to have found something with Baker Mayfield.

The defending Super Bowl champs are 2-1 since claiming him off waivers and last week was a dominant Christmas Day win over the Denver Broncos. Yet, they’re not the story in L.A. Instead, it's Justin Herbert, Brandon Staley and the 9-6 playoff bound Chargers.

Last week, they took care of business on Monday Night Football, beating the Indianapolis Colts 20-3, and are suddenly one of the scariest teams in the AFC, especially with Joey Bosa coming back from injury.

It’s the battle of L.A., so let’s get a couple of prop bets for this afternoon out west.

Best NFL Prop Bets for Rams vs. Chargers

  • Cam Akers Over 69.5 Rush Yards (-110)
  • Baker Mayfield Under 196.5 Pass Yards (-110)
  • Keenan Allen Over 70.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Cam Akers Over 69.5 Rush Yards

For everything the LA Chargers do well, they still can’t really stop the run. That’s okay, Brandon Staley is willing to concede yards on the ground in favor of preventing big plays through the air, but that still means there’s value in backing opposing running backs.

Somehow Cam Akers went from nearly being cut to being the No. 1 back in L.A. again, so let’s take his over today.

Baker Mayfield Under 196.5 Pass Yards

The Chargers do a great job of limiting big plays through the air, especially as of late.

Over the past three weeks, they’re allowing the fewest pass yards to their opponents per game, 129.3. Last week, the Rams didn’t punt once in their 51 points performance, but Baker Mayfield still only threw for 230 yards.

Keenan Allen Over 70.5 Receiving Yards

Remember when you were a kid and needed to sleep with your favorite blanket or stuffed animal?

Well, Justin Herbert lost his for a few weeks.

Keenan Allen is his security blanket and he’s so happy to have him back on the field. Over the past four weeks, he’s really been healthy again and he’s seen 51 targets in 4 games. He’s brought in 37 of them for 370 yards and he’ll likely have a big day again this week, especially if Jalen Ramsey spends most of his time worrying about Mike Williams on the outside.

Williams is a better matchup for Ramsey because of his size, so Allen might be able to get open over the middle.
