Best NFL Props for Commanders vs. Colts in NFL Week 8
By Josh Yourish
We have a weird one brewing in Indianapolis. It seemed like we would get Carson Wentz against his former team, but instead it’s Taylor Heinicke for Washington. We'll also see the first start of Sam Ehlinger, the former Texas legend, who is starting over Nick Foles and in place of Matt Ryan.
That means it could be a stay-away because who knows who will win that game, but we can just load up on props instead. That’s my plan and here are my three favorites for this week 8 matchup.
Best Props for Commanders vs. Colts
- Terry McLaurin Over 5.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
- Jonathan Taylor Over 17.5 Rush Attempts (-115)
- Michael Pittman Jr. Under 58.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Terry McLaurin Over 58.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
The Commanders offense is better with Taylor Heinicke. It would have been better with almost any other quarterback in the NFL than Carson Wentz. Last week Heinicke knew to get the ball to McLaurin and Terry had five catches for 73 yards and a touchdown. McLaurin has played with multiple different quarterbacks during his short time in Washington, but he has played more games with Heinicke than any other.
Jonathan Taylor Over 17.5 Rush Attempts (-115)
Taylor has been incredibly disappointing this season. Last week he came back from an injury and only carried the ball 10 times for 58 yards. The offense was predicated on short passes with Matt Ryan and now with Ehlinger I expect it to be built around Taylor. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Colts run the ball on first and second down around 70% of the time.
Michael Pittman Jr. Under 55.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
The books have been unwilling to put up props for Sam Ehlinger, which is understandable. Instead of fading Ehlinger, let's just fade his top receiver. I’m not sure Ehlinger was a good quarterback at Texas, so it likely won’t go well in the NFL.
