Best NFL Props for Patriots vs. Jets in NFL Week 8 (Belichick Doesn't Trust Mac Jones, So Why Should We?)
By Josh Yourish
The New England Patriots have beaten the New York Jets 12 consecutive times, so it could be tough for Robert Saleh’s squad. Only, these aren’t your slightly older brother’s New York Jets, this team is 5-2 and in second place in the division.
The Patriots are now the team that is under .500 and searching for their quarterback. That makes for some very enticing props for this game and here are my three favorites.
Best Props for Patriots vs. Jets
- Mac Jones Under 198.5 Pass Yards (-114)
- Rhamondre Stevenson Over 3.5 Receptions (+105)
- Jakobi Meyers Under 51.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Mac Jones Under 198.5 Pass Yards (-114)
Are we even sure that Mac Jones is going to play the entire game, because I am not convinced.
Bill Belichick had a quick trigger going to Bailey Zappe last week and he could do the same in New York. Even if Mac plays, he has not looked good all year and this New York secondary is very good. Sauce Gardner will take away an entire side of the field.
Rhamondre Stevenson Over 3.5 Receptions (+105)
The Patriots offense frankly looks confused. They don’t know their quarterback and it seems like they run different systems with both guys. This does not look like the run-heavy team we saw with Josh McDaniels calling plays last season. The only thing that they know is Rhamondre Stevenson is their full-time running back. He had eight grabs last week for 59 yards and I expect Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe to keep dumping it off to him.
Jakobi Meyers Under 51.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Jakobi Meyers was the primary target to start the year, but has somewhat gotten lost in the shuffle with Tyquan Thorton emerging and Rhamondre Stevenson becoming a focal point of the passing and running game. The Jets secondary has been impressive and I think they will keep Meyers down. Last week he had two catches for 34 yards and a touchdown.
