12 games drop the puck this Thursday night in the NHL, but one of them will hold special significance even before the game begins.
Washington Capitals (15-12-4) forward Alex Ovechkin returns home for the first time since notching his 800th career goal in an epic performance in Chicago.
Ovechkin entered the game three back of the milestone, and delivered with a hat trick on the road against the Blackhawks with 13 and a half minutes left to go in the 3rd period. He now becomes just the third player in NHL history to reach the 800 goal mark.
He'll be celebrated on home ice tonight when they take on the Central division leading Dallas Stars (17-8-5) this evening as a slight home dog. However, the Caps are hot; going 5-0 in their last five games and 4-1 in their last five games at home.
Other notable matchups on the board tonight include the Pittsburgh Penguins (17-8-4) heading to Surprise to take on the Florida Panthers (14-12-4), the Seattle Kraken (16-9-3) continuing their road trip on the east coast to face the Carolina Hurricanes (16-6-6), and the world's most famous arena brings the Toronto Maple Leafs (19-5-6) to town to match up with the New York Rangers (15-10-5).
BetSided's Iain MacMillan has three different bets he's taking for tonight, including a surprising home underdog on the moneyline to add to his card.
