There are only four NHL games taking place on Friday's slate, but a few of them kick start New Years Eve weekend on the earlier side to give us some wagering action throughout the bulk of the afternoon and evening.

At 4 p.m. ET (1 p.m. PT), the Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks drop the pick at Honda Center. Anaheim has had a brutal season, but have actually been close to average at home; going 6-8-1 compared to 4-14-3 on the road.

Anaheim is in the midst of a massive 10-game homestand, playing game number four this afternoon after knocking off the Vegas Golden Knights in a shootout on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Nashville is on the road for six of their next seven games starting today.

Three other matchups are sprinkled throughout the rest of the evening, all of which feature some of the top tier teams in their respective conferences.

The New Jersey Devils head to Pittsburgh to face the Penguins as slight road underdogs. New Jersey is just 2-7-1-0 ATS in their last 10 games, but have been phenomenal away from home; going 12-2-1-0 on the road this year.

30 minutes later in Raleigh, the Carolina Hurricanes welcome the Florida Panthers to town. Carolina's 23-6-6-0 on the season, including 11-3-1-0 at home, but are just 5-10 on the puck line in their home arena, leading to many victories in close 1-goal games this season.

Later on from Seattle, the Edmonton Oilers face-off against the Kraken from ClimatePledge Arena, as both teams come in right near a pick 'em for the final matchup of the day. The Oilers come in first in the Western Conference on the power play with 43 goals on the year, while the Kraken rank ninth in the NHL with 56 given up on the season.
