Best NRFI and YRFI Bets for May 28 (Young Arms Under the Spotlight)
By Matt De Saro
With multiple doubleheaders on today’s card, there is a ton of action to cover in the MLB on Saturday. More games mean more angles to cover and I highlighted two games with relevant first inning props. One for a run to be scored in the first, and one for no runs to be scored in the first. Let’s jump right in with odds provided by WynnBET Sportsbook for Saturday’s busy slate.
Best NRFI and YRFI Bets for Thursday, May 26
Rangers vs Athletics NRFI (-115)
I think that two bad teams are generally more likely to see fewer runs on the board than two good teams facing off. That theory is based a lot on the idea that bad teams have worse hitting on average than pitching. Put two equally bad teams together, and I think the pitchers and the edge. This is particularly evident during the first trip through the lineup. Zach Logue and Taylor Hearn are two good examples of this in action despite less than stellar stats.
While these two are no ace arms, they have been nearly immaculate in the first frame of games this season. Each has given up just one run in the first inning all year. Additionally, these two teams have combined to score in the first inning just once in their last six games against one another. I think a quiet first inning is a good bet for this showdown
Orioles vs Red Sox YRFI (-140)
This game is a bit more straightforward than the last I think. Denyi Reyes and Josh Winchkowski will start opposite each other with a total of 2.0 MLB innings between them. Reyes has both. While Reyes went scoreless in those two innings, it was against the Tigers. And while Winchkowski is a highly-touted prospect, he’s making his MLB debut and that can always be an unpredictable event. Many Hall of Fame pitchers got beat up in their first starts and I don’t see why things won’t be different for these two.
