Best NRFI and YRFI bets today (Alcantara is still a first inning Cy Young)

The Marlins haven't gotten great production from Sandy Alcantara this season, but he's at least still been great in the first inning.

Well, the first inning of my NRFI pick yesterday may have ended 5-0 Mets, but at least there were seven runs scored in the first inning of my YRFI bet.

1-1 isn’t too bad, but we’re going for 2-0 today. It’s a loaded slate so there are plenty of games to choose from my No Run First inning and Yes Run First Inning bets today.

Let’s get right into my two favorite first inning over/under bets for Wednesday, July 19.

Best NRFI bet today

Sandy Alcantara hasn’t been his Cy Young self this season, but he has a solid FIP much lower than his ERA that sits in the mid fours and he’s been particularly great in the first inning.

He is ninth in the MLB in first inning ERA at 1.89 and the Marlins are 27th in first inning runs per game. That’s a perfect recipe for an NRFI bet.

Best YRFI bet today

Again, the odds aren’t great for this one, but these are the two teams that put up seven runs in the first inning yesterday and I have no problem backing them again today.

Arizona is seventh in the MLB in first inning runs per game averaging 0.62 which feels like a solid proposition, but it gets even better because the Braves are first in that stat.

Atlanta scores 1.08 first inning runs per game which is by far the most in baseball.
