We went 1-2 yesterday with our NRFI/YRFI picks, hitting the YRFI with ease in Nationals vs. Dodgers, but missing the NRFI in Twins vs. Brewers and the YRFI in the Cardinals vs. Blue Jays.

For those of you who don't know, these bets are simple and quick. You're betting on with there will be NRFI (no runs first inning) or YRFI (yes runs first inning). They're exciting and fun, like a little snack sized bet.

Let's dive into my best NRFI and YRFI bets for Thursday, July 28.

All odds listed below are via WynnBET Sportsbook.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today

Phillies vs. Pirates NRFI -125

Here we have a matchup of two of the lowest scoring first inning teams in MLB. The Phillies rank 26th in first innings runs per game at 0.39 and the Pirates rank 28th at 0.32.

It also helps that Pittsburgh ranks 28th in overall OPS in the month of July at .621. Today, they face Zack Wheeler, who has a stellar 1.50 ERA in the first inning this season.

Tigers vs. Blue Jays YRFI -120

I was on the YRFI in the Blue Jays game yesterday and it didn't hit, but I'm going back to the well today.

The main reason I like the pick, is that the Jays are trotting out Yusei Kikuchi for the start today. He has an abysmal 6.32 ERA in the first inning this season, allowing 11 earned runs in 15.2 combined innings.

Cubs vs. Giants YRFI +100

The Cubs aren't exactly known for having a top offense in the Majors, but yet they rank third in Major League baseball in first inning runs per game at 0.69. Tonight, they face Alex Wood of the Giants of has a 3.79 ERA in the first inning. That sounds like a match made in YRFI heaven, especially at +100 odds.

The Tigers are starting Tyler Alexander, who also has a terrible first inning ERA at 6.75. It's a small sample size with only four starts, but he's given up three runs in those four innings.

All we need is one of the two pitchers to give up a first inning run again today, and we'll cash this ticket.
