After a small slate yesterday as teams enjoyed off-days traveling across the country, the MLB is back in action with 16 games on tap for today.

There's a ton of pitching matchups to target, but I've selected my favorites for today's best No Run First Inning (NRFI) and YRFI (Yes Run First Inning) bets.

Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook and get back to our winning ways, shall we?

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today

Nationals vs Marlins YRFI (-110)

This is purely a fade of Washington starter Joan Adon. The YRFI is 5-1 in his last six starts as Adon has given up 11 first inning runs in nine games. He's issued a whopping nine walks in the first to pair with three home runs, so he's primed for early damage against a Marlins lineup that hits right-handed pitchers well.

Washington allows first-inning runs at the second-highest clip in MLB and Miami should take advantage today.

Tigers vs Pirates NRFI (-135)

These are two of the worst first-inning offenses in the sport and it's a beautiful day to cash a NRFI bet as a result. I expect this game to go under the total behind another dominant start from Detroit ace Tarik Skubal and that'll get underway in the opening frame.

Skubal hasn't allowed a run in 31 of his last 32 innings and the Tigers have scored a first-inning run in only 4.17% of their road games. This is a slam dunk bet.

Cardinals vs Rays NRFI (-115)

I like this game to go under as well with the Rays' lineup struggling and Jeffrey Springs on the mound. Springs has allowed just one first-inning run in six games and the Cardinals score in the opening frame in only 21% of their road games.

Tampa Bay is 27th in OPS against right-handed pitchers over the last month and though I think Cardinals' starter Dakota Hudson is due for negative regression, he should be able to limit the Rays' bats early. Trust the recent trends and roll with Springs to stay hot and the Tampa lineup to stay cold.
