We are down to the final three days of the MLB regular season, so we will soon lose one of the greatest bets in sports: The No Run First Inning and Yes Run First Inning.

Of course, we will still be hammering these bets in the postseason, but it’s a whole different ballgame when every team has a playoff caliber pitching staff to start each game. So, let’s savor these last few days of the regular season and get ready for the real challenge of October baseball.

Best NRFI Pick Today

Phillies vs. Astros -132

Aaron Nola vs. Lance McCullers Jr. sounds pretty good to me for an NRFI bet. Sure, it’s not the best odds, but it's not bad considering the 7.5 total and the fact that we are loading up on our YRFI bet at plus odds. McCullers has made four starts at home this year and has a 1.50 ERA and he has yet to give up a run in the first inning across his seven starts this season.

Best YRFI Pick Today

Royals vs. Guardians +102

Zack Greinke has been his vintage self for much of this year. Only problem is all of those ace-like performances have come at home where he has a 1.91 ERA across 12 starts. On the road he has a 5.68 ERA in his 13 outings and is 0-7. This is our last chance to fade Greinke on the road, so let’s get it every way we can.

On the other side, Triston McKenzie has been borderline elite this season with a 2.99 ERA in 30 starts. However, the first inning has been his roughest. He has a 4.03 ERA in the first, his highest of any inning.

I absolutely love this bet at plus odds and I’m not afraid to throw two units on it because there is so much value with two pitchers who on the surface look fantastic.
