Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today (Musgrove Keeps it Low Scoring in San Diego)
By Josh Yourish
We have a lot of early games on the slate today so let’s place some bets for early in the games.
No run first inning and yes run first inning bets are fun and pay out quick. I believe I've found the best ones out there for today so let’s take a look.

Best NRFI Bet Today
Phillies vs. Padres (-125)
This pick is about as straightforward as it gets. Joe Musgrove is one of the favorites to win the Cy Young this year and has not given up more than two runs in any start this year. If the Phillies get to him at all, it won’t be early on in this one.
The other piece to this puzzle is Manny Machado. He is still out with a bum ankle which takes a lot of pop out of the top of San Diego’s lineup. Phillies' starter Ranger Suárez now has a good chance to get through the first inning, and maybe a lot longer into the game as well.
Best YRFI Bet Today
Guardians vs. Twins (-135)
This is the game with the highest total today and for good reason. Devin Smeltzer goes for the Twins and his ERA looks a lot better than every other number on the back of his baseball card. His FIP is 5.38 compared to a 3.52 ERA and his K/BB ratio is only 1.73.
Zach Plesac is on the mound for the Guardians and he brings in a 4.41 ERA to face the top of the Twins order. Luis Arraez is hitting .355 and Carlos Correa behind him has gone 11-39 with two doubles and two home runs in his last 10 games.
