Best Prop Bets for Browns vs. Texans in Week 13 (Ground Game To Decide Watson's Return)

Deshaun Watson makes his return this week. The Browns quarterback will take the field in orange and brown for the first time in the regular season and that means we have a chance to fade him in the prop market. Not only will it feel a lot better to root against him, but he'll have a lot of rust to shake off from two years away from an NFL football field.

I’ve put together two other non-Watson props as well, because the story is about the quarterback, but this game will be won on the ground.

• Nick Chubb Over 91.5 Rush Yards (-115)
• Dameon Pierce Over 67.5 Rush Yards (-113)

Deshaun Watson Under 20.5 Completions

Watson hasn’t played in a meaningful professional football game in nearly two years, since January 3rd 2021. Now, he will have to go back to Houston to take on his former team with the 4-7 Browns who love to run the ball. I imagine that they’ll protect Watson some because of the amount of rust he’ll be trying to shake off and even if he gets 35 pass attempts I’m not sure he’ll complete 21 of them. 

Nick Chubb Over 91.5 Rush Yards

Like I said, Cleveland loves to run the ball and they’ll do it a lot against the worst run defense in the NFL. Houston can’t stop the ground game, they’ve given up 168.6 rush yards a game. That’s even with Miami only running for 66 yards last week against Houston. That happened because Miami frankly didn’t care to run the ball much with Tyreek Hill and Waddle outside. Cleveland doesn’t have that luxury. 

Dameon Pierce Over 67.5 Rush Yards

Cleveland’s run defense isn’t much better and the Texans have gone from Davis Mills to Kyle Allen at quarterback without either having much success. Pierce only got five carries last week, but he should get the rock much more often against the poor interior line of the Browns.
