Best Prop Bets for Warriors vs. Hawks (Poole To Stay Hot, Thompson to Struggle)
By Joe Summers
Fresh off a win over the Heat, the 48-25 Golden State Warriors take on the 36-37 Atlanta Hawks tonight at 7:30 PM EST.
Stephen Curry will miss tonight's contest and WynnBET Sportsbook has the Warriors as 2.5-point underdogs as a result.
BetSided's Donnavan Smoot previewed the game here, but I've identified a couple prop bets providing us value in tonight's showdown.
Best Prop Bets for Warriors vs Hawks
- Jordan Poole Over 23.5 Points (-125)
- Klay Thompson Under 22.5 Points (-125)
Jordan Poole Over 23.5 Points (-125)
Poole is one fire. Over his last 10 games, he's averaging 25.9 points on 53.8% shooting and has cleared this prop in four straight. The young guard's usage rate has exploded to 29.1% over his last five games and he looks confident and comfortable manning the Warriors offense.
Meanwhile, the story of the Hawks' season has been their poor defense. They rank 26th in defensive rating on the year and have been getting lit up by guards. Poole should stay hot and soar above this prop yet again.
Klay Thompson Under 22.5 Points (-125)
This line seems to be more out of respect to Thompson's reputation than his actual play this season. In the 26 games he's played since returning from injury, he's only cleared this prop five times, including just twice in his last dozen contests.
Klay is shooting just 39.5% from the field this month and even without Curry, I don't trust his game enough right now to take the over. I'll stick with the recent history that tells us he's not the same player he used to be. While he may return to the heights he reached before his injuries, he's just not that guy right now and I'll keep banking on Klay unders until he does.
