Best Same Game Parlay for Steelers vs. Chiefs on NFL Wild Card Weekend
By Jon Helmkamp
The Pittsburgh Steelers limped into the playoffs due to a shocking loss by the Indianapolis Colts to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 18. As their reward, they get to go to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. If you’re looking to put together a same game parlay, there’s plenty of routes to go.
Let’s start with the odds via WynnBet.
Best Same Game Parlay Picks for Steelers vs. Chiefs
- Kansas City Chiefs Moneyline
- Darrel Williams 1+ Touchdown
- Darrel Williams 60+ Rushing Yards
- Diontae Johnson 45+ Receiving Yards
- Ben Roethlisberger 1+ Interception
Kansas City Chiefs Moneyline
This is what I like to call “building a solid foundation.” The Chiefs money line is about as chalk as it gets, with the Steelers being +12.5. Even Ben Roethlisberger said earlier this week that he didn’t think his team had a chance, so they should just have fun with it. It was a beautiful display of reverse psychology.
Kansas City has the third-highest yards per game of offense at 396.8 this year, compared to 315.4 from the Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger will need to put up points to compete with Patrick Mahomes, but he hasn’t thrown multiple touchdowns or over 244 passing yards in his last four games. Kansas City by a mile.
Darrel Williams 1+ Touchdown
With no Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Darrel Williams is a top-tier running back. The Pittsburgh Steelers allowed the only 200+ rushing yard performance of the season this year, and have been gashed on the ground to the tune of 2,054 rushing yards, second most in the NFL.
In a high-powered offense, Williams will get plenty of looks near the goal line. Two weeks ago, he got two rushing touchdowns against the Cincinnati Bengals, and he has a good chance to find the end zone again.
Darrel Williams 60+ Rushing Yards
See above. The Steelers defense hasn’t been able to stop anyone all year. Williams is going to see a heavy workload in a playoff home game. In games that he has started, Williams has topped 60 rushing yards in three of his seven starts, but it’s the matchup that I’m incredibly confident in. If the Chiefs jump out to a lead like I expect that they will, then Williams could have a huge day.
Diontae Johnson 45+ Receiving Yards
I’m playing the game script here, which I believe will have the Chiefs high-octane offense getting out to an early lead. Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers offense is going to have to throw the ball early and often if they’re in catch up mode.
Diontae Johnson has gone over 45 receiving yards in 13 of his 17 games this year. He’s the lead threat for Roethlisberger, and is capable of creating yards after the catch. The Chiefs have allowed the sixth-most passing yards per game, meaning Johnson should have plenty of room to operate.
Ben Roethlisberger 1+ Interception
In what could be the last game in the illustrious career of Ben Roethlisberger, he might not go down with a pretty performance. Continuing on the expected game script listed above, Roethlisberger might have to take chances in this game. Maybe it’s an end-of-halftime Hail Mary, or maybe it’s taking shots deep down the field in the second half, but Roethlisberger feels like a lock for an interception or two today.
Big Ben has thrown an interception in three straight games, and in five of his last 7. In fact, since Week 12, Roethlisberger has nine touchdowns and six interceptions. He’s definitely turnover prone.
