Best Trade Destinations for Myles Turner, Domantas Sabonis and Caris LeVert
The Indiana Pacers, who are 10-16 on the season, are open to tearing down their operation and starting with a rebuild. The Athletic's Shams Charania reported the Pacers were open to deals centering Caris LeVert, Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner.
WynnBET currently has the Pacers' odds to win the NBA title set at +20000, which is a good spot to start a rebuild. If they were to start that process, here are the best trade destinations for those three players.
Caris LeVert to the Portland Portland Trail Blazers
The Trail Blazers have a lot of guards that can score on their roster, so LeVert might be in a crowded situation, but this would be the best move because of what it allows the Blazers to do. If they get LeVert, they would have enough scoring at the guard position to where it is okay to trade C.J. McCollum to the Philadelphia 76ers to get Ben Simmons.
Portland is close to blowing the whole thing up after fire Neil Olshey. This would give it a 20-point scorer and put them one step closer to acquiring a 24-year-old All-Star and DPOY finalist.
Domantas Sabonis to the Los Angeles Clippers
Since Kawhi Leonard and Paul George arrived in Los Angeles, the best lineups have been smaller lineups. It’s allowed them to play with space and shooting, but it’s also allowed them to hide the fact they don’t have a dominant inside force. The Clippers have used an aging Serge Ibaka, Ivica Zubac and Markieff Morris to play the big man role. If they could get their hands on 25-year-old Domantas Sabonis, they would be complete.
Sabonis is one of the best rebounders in the league, which would help the Clippers who are currently in the bottom-third in that category. His presence would also bring a consistent scoring presence down low and a nice pick-and-roll partner for Paul George to work with. Los Angeles has been chasing a complete roster for nearly a decade now, and Sabonis could be the missing piece.
Myles Turner to the Golden State Warriors
Myles Turner, who is shooting 39.5% from 3 and leading the league in blocks, would be the perfect fit with the Warriors. His shooting would give them even more space to drive to the rim and play pick-and-roll at the top of the floor, especially when Klay Thompson gets back. Imagine a lineup of Steph Curry-Thompson-Andrew Wiggins-Draymond Green-Turner with Jordan Poole coming off the bench. That’s scary.
Also, the shot blocking ability would give them the best rim protection they’ve had since Andrew Bogut in 2016 and would allow Draymond Green to use his high defensive IQ to roam and cause chaos everywhere on the floor. The Warriors already have the best defensive rating in the league. If they added the 7’1” Turner, how would teams score on them?
