The New York Mets lead on the NL East fluctuated all year. It fell down to 1.5-games, but then expanded again shortly after.

Finally, after the season-long rollercoaster, the Atlanta Braves have completely closed the gap and the two teams were tied atop the division as of this morning, at 85-51.

Despite the two teams being tied atop the NL East, the Braves are still plus-money underdogs to win it this season. I'd recommend jumping on them now before it's too late.

You can bet on Atlanta to win the division at +125 at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Bet on Braves to Win NL East

In what's good news for Mets fans, and likely the driving factor behind them still being -165 favorites to win the division, is that they have the easiest schedule remaining in the Majors based on opponents win percentage.

But, with that being said, the Braves also have a fairly easy remaining schedule. They are ranked with the 11th easiest remaining schedule.

The Braves may have a slightly tougher schedule, but they've statistically been the better team, especially in the second half of the season.

Since the All-Star break, the Braves outrank the Mets in OPS, starting rotation ERA, and bullpen ERA. So, all three major measurable areas, Atlanta has the advantage.

The biggest concern for Mets bettors and fans, is that New York ranks 18th in bullpen ERA since the All-Star break. Sure, they have one of the best closers in baseball in Edwin Diaz, but if he can't go, or if they need to rely on middle relievers, they're going to run into trouble.

So, let's look past the schedule and see the big picture. The Braves are the better team, and we shouldn't look past the available gift of being able to bet on them at +125 to win the division for the fifth-straight season.

Bet on it before it's too late.
